Gonzalo Mila was born in Barcelona in 1967. He began his studies in architecture and in 1988 he started to work for Miguel Milà. Working with small-scale projects that allowed control of the entire process led him to study industrial design at Elisava School. In 1994 he founded, along with Juan Carlos Ines, Ines-Milà studio, designing and producing items such as stretching Tutombas pranha deckchair, Sillarga and Sicurtà exterior lounger and chair for Escofet, Teula bottle (holder) and the rocker/ stool Balensiya.
Together with Miguel and Micaela Mila, he later formed the Milà design studio. Main projects of this group were the interior design of the Casa Milà level for touristic visits and the Rama lamp post, which won the ADI-FAD Silver Delta Prize. In 1999 he went to work for Santa & Cole Design Editions as head of the urban division, focusing on developing new products. Since 2001, he works in his own studio developing projects of urban furniture, interior and exterior lighting, accessories and projects that favor the integration of wildlife in the city. He collaborates with companies such as Santa & Cole, Escofet, Bover, Viabizzuno, among many others.
A rigorous essentialist, his way of projecting is human, close and based on the fundamental importance of utility.
